The GranSport is Maserati’s high-performance version of the standard Coupé Cambiocorsa. To justify the higher asking price, the GranSport adds some extra power, an aerodynamic kit, a stiffer chassis, some special colors, and a simplified race-car-like interior with plenty of carbon-fiber accents. The engine in the GranSport is a tweaked version of the regular Coupé’s 4.2-liter, DOHC 32-valve V-8. In the GranSport, you get 11 more horses and a standard paddle-shift sequential manual gearbox that shifts 35-percent faster than the Coupé Cambiocorsa. Maserati drops the ride height by about a half-inch to improve responsiveness and adds distinctive 19-inch wheels that are wrapped by Pirelli P Zero tires. The suspension changes make the ride stiffer, but they also make the GranSport into a car that isn’t out of its element at the occasional track day.
